This initiative targets passengers who are usually abandoned by the road side after a breakdown.
Sensitization has been made mainly in Nakuru, Western Kenya, Siaya, South Nyanza and Kisumu. Passengers have been calling us and we have been able to instruct the respective bus/matatu conductors to refund appropriate fares. A lot more is yet to be done to enable us sensitize all Kenyans
REDUCING ROAD ACCIDENTS
The main objective of this initiative is to identify causes of road accidents. These have been identified mainly as follows: Overspeeding, obstruction, dangerous overtaking, poor vehicle maintenance among others.
Several arrests have been made under our instructions and drivers and conductors charged in court.
PASSENGER HARASSMENT
The reason for this initiative was to ensure that passengers are safe from all forms of harassment and mistreatment as they travel.
A number of cases have been reported to us so far. However, some sensitization is required for the public to know us well.
THIRD PARTY CLAIMS
From experience, accident victims and their kin, take years to get compensated from insurance companies.
After we appeared on K24 television on Friday 22nd June 2012, we have received over 100 requests related to outstanding insurance claims.
